Thank you from the Bottom of My Heart
Words cannot tell you how deeply I appreciate
all you have done to make my experience at Lourdes special. The flight
is long and I have to say that flying at 38 thousand feet was a little
scary.
The day I arrived we had a team meeting. Everyone was very friendly.
All the Knights, Dames and Volunteers made their way through the crowd
of people to personally introduce themselves to each and every Malade.
The meals were very good. Each and every
meal was well planned. It was great to sit at a table and wonder which
new friend would I meet today. Every one was friendly and in the "Holy
Spirit of Caring, Serving and Loving". The Knights and Dames
could never do enough and they never complained. They touched everyone
with compassion and treated everyone as though they were their own
family.
The Grotto is beautiful. The Virgin Mary
carved from marble is magnificent. When I was pulled in the cart to
the baths, I didn't know how my body would respond. Dee was running
around trying to find blankets, hand warmers and what ever else she
and Chase could find to keep me warm. Dee you are truly a good friend
and I cherish the time I am with you.
To my amazement the water in the bath was clear and refreshing. After
being gently dipped in by four "Guardian Angles of God",
I found that my body was warm and glowing! I wasn't cold at all.
Everyone said it was a "miracle". I don't think it was a
miracle, but I believe that it marked a time were I felt close to
the Holy Spirit. This experience lasted for several hours. Again,
I want to thank you.
The best was yet to come by attending Sunday
Mass with over 25,000 people. Many countries were there in celebration.
There were over 200 Priests all in harmony and Glory. The music was
beautiful. The mass was said in several different languages. Even
though I couldn't understand most of it, the presents of faith surrounded
me. I believe this was when I felt the closest to Mary, Jesus and
our Lord.
Again, I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart. Your friendship
I will always treasure.
Love always,
Carol XOX
