Seattle, WA Projects

The Western Association currently provides financial and hands-on support to the following projects in Seattle.

Matt Talbot Center, located on Third Avenue in Seattle, battles homelessness, substance abuse, and poverty in Seattle and King County.  The Center provides a men’s recovery shelter, affordable, clean and sober housing for men and women, and case management.  Invested and Auxiliary members assist with Sunday breakfasts once a month, an annual Thanksgiving dinner, an annual Christmas party, and other activities.  Please contact John Costello for additional information.

Providence Mount St. Vincent, located on 35th Avenue Southwest in Seattle, is a comprehensive assisted care and nursing facility that serves approximately 400 elderly men and women in need.  Among other activities, invested and Auxiliary members annually organize a Mass in February to celebrate the World Day of the Sick.  Please contact John Costello for additional information.

Sacred Heart Shelter, located on Warren Avenue North in Seattle, offers food and case management services, including a children’s program, to homeless families in King County.  On Sundays, invested and Auxiliary members serve dinner to residents of the shelter.  The Malta team also regularly staffs the Shelter’s Lenten SoupLine in downtown Seattle and assists with on various holidays.  Please contact John Costello for additional information.

The Solanus Casey Center of St. James Cathedral, currently offers counseling on available services for housing, transportation, medical help, legal aid, food, and assistance with utility charges.  The Center has plans to establish a mental health program for the poor and particularly those who are homeless.  Invested and Auxiliary members will be needed to assist with administrative tasks.  Please contact Boyd Sharp for additional information.
