The Western Association currently provides financial and hands-on support to the following projects in San Jose:
John XXII Multiservice Center, operated by Catholic Charities of Santa Clara County, provides food, socialization and healthcare for the elderly and marginalized in the San Jose area. Two days a month, invested and Auxiliary members assist with serving food in the center’s cafeteria, unloading, bagging and distributing food to the needy, and preparing for certain special celebrations such as Christmas, Thanksgiving, Lunar New Year, Tet and Easter. Martha’s Kitchen, located on Willow Street, prepares and serves meals to the homeless and needy, including dinners two evenings a week. Invested and Auxiliary members regularly assist in preparing and serving these meals. Please contact Louise Zarka for additional information.
Sacred Heart Community Service, located on South First Street, operates a food pantry that serves food to those in need. Invested and Auxiliary members regularly assist with distributing food. Please contact Michael Blach for more information.
